Lately I haven’t really been living up to the “foodie” part of my blog — I’ve been focusing much on writing poetry and fiction and sharing photos of travel and nature. So, I’ve decided to use this prompt as a way to make it up to you (those who follow my blog for restaurant reviews/ food porn) ^^
Our destination: only the ultimate foodie paradise in Metro Manila — Bonifacio Global City ; Serendra Piazza, Taguig City, Metro Manila, Philippines
Let’s go on a little food trip, shall we? ^^ We’re doin’ it my way: DESSERT IS SERVED FIRST. ^^
1) First stop: Cupcakes!
I’ve already made a post about cupcakes by sonja, click the link for more cupcakes. ^^
pistachio berries and cream
This is just one of my favorites! We’ll also have Berries and Cream, Red Velvet Vixen and Bunny Hugger Carrot Cupcake cos they’re awesome.
Ok, that’s it, enough! Quit stuffing your face with cupcakes coz our next stop is just fantabulous!
2) French Macarons and Royal Pudding at Chez Karine
So we have dark chocolate, pistachio, lemon, earl grey, choco mint, strawberry and my favorite: salted caramel! ^^
Muscovado Royal Pudding.. ahh the soft set custard pudding with dark caramel at the bottom.. pretty little jars too. And yes, you can take the jar home.. ^^
So it’s time for lunch but the sweetness doesn’t end here! I bet you never had a sweet burger before 😉
3) Lunch: Murray and D’vine — burgers, sliders, and damn good wine
If you happen to be in Manila and somehow specifically craving a heart-shaped burger, lol, then now you know where to get it. ^^
Murray and D’vine is what I’d call a win-win situation. Why? Well, for starters, their slogan says: “Burgers, Sliders and Damn Good Wine” so you know it’s the perfect dating place when you’re in the mood for something not too fancy but not too low-cost either. Yeah, their gourmet burgers are pretty pricey compared to other burger chains here in the Philippines but IMHO the price is still pretty decent. After all where else can you find a place where the equation: [(girl gets wine + heart shaped burger) + (boy gets beer + sports channel + burgers) = everybody happy] exists. ^^ — It’s ok, math confuses me too. ^^
in case you’re wondering, yeah, I believe all of their burgers are heart shaped, except for the sliders and yeah, they tasted good too ^^
4) Dessert — again! : Gelatissimo
chocolate truffle and forest berries are my fave flavors… a definite must-try ^^
I bet you’re tummy’s pretty damn full by now so let’s spend the rest of the afternoon walkin’ around and doin’ my favorite past time. I WILL SHOP ‘TIL YOU DROP . ^^
I’m bettin’ you’re hungry again.. And that your arms are aching from carrying my shopping bags.lol ^^ How about we sit for a while and grab a slice of pizza

oh-my-effin’-god WHERE DO I START???
in no particular order:
1. poverty and unemployment – college grad, check. impressive transcript, check. connections, none? sorry, kid, no job for you ^^ not even a shitty one.
2. poor educational system – self-explanatory. and how is it that even the “best schools” have become nothing but money-making institutions with incompetent boobs as educators? ><
3. health care – as a nurse who used to volunteer in government hospitals, there were plenty of times when we had to "improvise" and "use our creativity" due to lack of hospital supplies. i mean like making 2 holes on iv tubes to use as O2 nasal cannula! i'm no florence nightingale but every shift, i find myself worrying about where the 60 patients (yes!) i'm handling are gonna get their next dose of antibiotics cos they're like this close to finishing it but can't afford another capsule! i find myself wandering off to the other wards to beg for one if they have a spare.
4. flooding – when there's heavy rain, there's always flood outside our house. in fact, there's flood in the entire goddamn subdivision! and this is supposed to be one of the “nice ones” ><
5. corruption – ahh now that isn't up to the leader entirely… i mean, the temptation's always gonna be there… and if they're bad persons, nothin' much we can do about it… but i really hope that this coming year and the next and the next, people in my country would be wise enough to vote for the right candidates..
for years my family has been forcing me to live in either the U.S. or Canada. My father always said there's nothing for me here. And if only I didn't find this country so damn beautiful, I would've left…
so this 2013, i'm not expecting a miracle, really… i'm not that naive. but maybe, just maybe, some improvements can be done… pretty please, dear leader, please do something about it… cos if you don’t, i just might not be here anymore…

I’m very grateful to the Daily Post for giving me a fantastic excuse to tell you about my Top 10 blog posts that I want you to check out without making it seem as though I’m begging you to read them. lol I’ve only started blogging mid October 2012 and already I have like a gazillion posts! So I can’t help but think some of the new followers might’ve missed out on a few stuff coz they’re buried way deep. I look at my Top Posts and Pages and I couldn’t help but notice that they’re all from the photo challenges. And while I’m still thankful and I do love pretty pictures, it just seems kinda odd coz this was never a photography blog ^^ (I mean, who am I kiddin’? lol) So I guess what I’m saying is, the following are my Top Posts and Pages, i mean FOR ME, just for me… regardless of what the stats and readers say. Ah well, who knows, you might like ’em too ^^

Saturday mornings for me
Could be anything I want them to be…
Stay buried deep in sheets, or rise early
And make a pot of tea.
Watch old black and white movies,
Even put on some bad TV;
I could go out for some ice cream
Listen to some music and daydream.
Grab my bikini and hit the beach;
Some days, I take extra load and teach.
I could always take a writing assignment
Or choose to just chill and live in the moment.
I could hop over to my granny’s,
Then we could get our manis and pedis.
I could paint, read Vogue, curl up with a book
Or cuddle with my designer clothes in my little nook. (weird aren’t I?)
I could shop, cook, make DIY stuff;
