Carpe Diem: Daily Haiku 90

lantern

Flapping in the wind
Dreams caught in shivery boughs
Struggling to be free

Fervent hopes hang high
As pink and white promises
Blossom around it

Sneaking spring kisses
Right under the cherry tree
Lantern winks at me

Guarded by stone lamps
Scribed on delicate paper
My deepest desires

Twilight shadows play
An exquisite symphony
On vermilion shrine

River scintillates
With the mysticism of
A bygone era

stone lamp

Spring lantern

  1. Third haiku very nice, actually very very nice! All are interesting and very rich! I can see how the pictures were needed here, but do you write haiku without visuals sometimes? I feel sometimes images can devalue words, and your words say so much, would really like them to paint my picture..
