Today’s theme is Nehane (Nirvana Ceremony, Buddha’s Nirvana anniversary)
I decided to try a different approach. I post this with no little trepidation. Hope I do my sensei proud. lol
仏ねむる
まんげつのよるに
ちょうがかえる
Buddha nemuru
Mangetsu no yoru ni
Chou ga kaeru
恵
trans. Sleeping Buddha
Under a full moon
Butterflies come home
The sleeping Buddha
Motionless yet soaring high
Like the spring full moon

Master ascended
Gold shackles ’round my ankles
I got left behind

As a Buddhist and as a haiku poet, I love these! Great job.
I have a feeling if you keep writing like this you’ll loose those shackles soon 🙂
A lot of depth in your haiku … divine feeling !!!
And you have the power to remove the shackles! I enjoyed the paradox especially in the third verse!
profound!
Very very good kz. no sensei needed for you any longer.
