Between sheets of blue
Two whales lying side by side
Creating big waves.

Sirens of the deep
Drunken sailor lulled to sleep
Homesick lullaby.

Belly of the whale
Surely there are better ways
To teach obedience.

key word for today: Whale

*last ku was ’bout the story of jonah (old testament) bed time bible story my aunt used to read to me ^^

  1. What a precious trio! Which is my fav…? mmm, difficult choice…. I love the movement in the first, the melancholy in the second, the strong message in the third. All of them sound like siren songs.
    🙂

  2. I see you had a ‘whale of a time’ with this prompt! I wondered who would be able to give it a biblical dimension…I shouldn’t have! Your second haiku with the haunting homesick lullaby is fine stuff, but the first has the feel of the classical haiku. I said a “long” time ago this form fits you like a glove – haiku – still does.

  3. Awesome series of haiku KZ, every one a little gem. I like the reference to Job in your third haiku. Very well composed. Thank you for your daily effort to share your haiku on Carpe Diem.
