Daily Prompt: Coming To a Bookshelf Near You

Once a Princess
a Historical Romance Novel

Darkness fell and she was summoned. With every barefooted step on the cold stone floor, the fear inside her grew. She followed the lead of the stern-faced, heavyset guard as she frantically searched her memory for anything that she might have said or done wrong. There were only two reasons why one would be brought to the royal chambers and that was either punishment or pleasure. Pleasure… She felt a stab of guilt for even thinking of the word. That she would feel anything that was not anger or sorrow was a sign of betrayal to her people. She, too, was once a princess… the daughter of the great At-aman, leader of the Mukabaki tribe but that was before the Athaleans attacked in the dead of the night and burned their village to the ground. The soldiers raped their women and butchered their men. They killed her father after he was forced to kneel before the Athalean ruler. Now there she was, nothing but a common slave to bend over to every whim of the heartless monarch who murdered her father and wiped out her clan.

Uli was raised by her father to be strong; she fought alongside men and served as a symbol of hope to her people but nothing ever prepared her for the horrors of this place. It was ironic that the Athaleans should claim to be the civilized ones when their actions proved them to be no different from the basest animals that knew no better but give in to their instincts. How they would slaughter innocent people, plunder the gifts of nature and shamelessly indulge in the desires of the flesh. Flesh… Could it be what she was summoned for? Once inside the room, she stood straight-backed by the door as the guard was ordered to leave. She held her head up high but her nervousness was betrayed by her eyes; they were expressive pools of deep sensuous brown which revealed flecks of gold when they captured the glow of the candlelight. In an instant, she was face to face with the Athaleans’ mighty ruler…

*supposed to be for an assignment for work–1000 word fiction — but I wasn’t able to use it so instead of discarding it, guess I’d just use it for the prompt ^^ It feels good to put my name on something for once ^^ Actually, it’s originally for an erotica; sorry guys, can’t and won’t post the rest. ^^

  1. Too bad she doesn’t have a shive up her sleeve. Are you writing this book? Where does it take place, it’s historical so it’s a real place, yes? Is the Mukabaki tribe real? I remember reading about a waterfall that has that name so I was just wondering.

    • all fictional..hmmn,.. I’m not quite sure if I’m gonna edit or finish it. Parts of it were done, but it’s erotica, lol i’m not sure if i wanna post it here. as for the waterfall, I guess it’s a coincidence, I better look it up ^^

    • I work part time as a ghost writer… :) So other people usually out their name on my work. I never had an educational background in writing so i fear that my stuff isn’t as good enough. In fact, I’ve only started blogging just a month ago, sigh
